Installing mplayer on openSUSE 11.2

To install the mplayer application on openSUSE 11.2 you will need to add the packman repository.

The following instructions explain how to do this:

  1. Open Yast2 -> Software -> Software Repositories

  2. Click Add and select HTTP and click Next.

  3. For Repository Name this can be anything, i.e. Packman

  4. For server name enter:
  5. For the Directory on the Server enter:
  6. /pub/packman/suse/11.2/
  7. Make sure that Anonymous is checked

  8. To add mplayer, click in Yast2 -> Software, select Software Management

  9. Search for mplayer and select to add it, click Accept to install.
